Illinois Compass Judging Team Completes Session
 Release Date 4/1/2009

Illinois Compass Judging Team Completes Session

Chicago - A team of 10 seasoned marketing professionals met today and successfully completed the judging of approximately 34 percent of all entries made in the 2009 TMCA Compass Awards Program. The judging session took place at the corporate offices at Echo Global Logistics in Chicago.

This year, there were nearly 170 entries in the TMCA Compass Awards Program, according to Brian Everett, ABC, TMCA's chief executive officer. Two judging sessions have already taken place within the last two weeks, in Tennessee (at the OHL corporate headquarters in Nashville) and in Ohio (at the Pacer International corporate headquarters in Dublin). Finishing the Illinois judging session in Chicago concludes the judging process for this year's awards program. Recipients will be notified of the results during the week of April 6.

Martha Anderson of James Street Associates, who was proctor of two of the three judging teams, made the observation that the caliber of many of the marketing programs entered was extremely high. "However, going through this year's judging process has made it clear that marketing professionals in the transportation industry need to continue to focus on strategic goal-setting that meet the business goals of their firms, and then ensure that ROI measurement reflects those goals."

Judges on the Illinois Judging Team were: Michael Cerilli of Navistar, Tracy Robinson of Amtrak, Cecilia Wu of YRC Worldwide, James Adams of Panther Expedited Services, Dino Moler of LeSaint Logistics, Tim Conrad of Standard Forwarding, Tom McGourty of Bridgeline Software, Kara Smith of Echo Global Logistics, and Bill Fahrenwald and Martha Anderson of James Street Associates.

Recipients of the 2009 TMCA Compass Awards Program will be announced in mid-April, after all judging results have been audited and finalized.
